Eye Always Will

Discoveries:

This week I discovered eyes deceive you. Yes, those two sparkling dots planted ever so perfectly the face which are designed to help us have vision. The sad part is that although we possess vision, sometimes we never really see.  Think about that word, “see”. Its implication is profound. When one sees not only do they witness what’s in front of them but they also get a glimpse of what’s inside of yourself. When we truly see we then understand that it’s not the world that’s moving, it is only ourselves. Call it an epiphany which lead to revelation. This week I saw myself. I wasn’t disappointed at the reflection either. Naturally we all wish to be a little more of this or that but all in all we must recognize that the clarity we seek is ushered in by the eye. What do we truly see?

High Points:

Another interesting notion that I gained a better understanding of is the word “always”. What a powerful promise. Think about it, when a man tells a woman that he will always love them or if a friend tells another that they will always be there for them it makes quite the statement. Always gets thrown around more than the word love in my opinion. Sometimes it used in a negative connotation, like as in the phrase, “you always disappoint me,” or “I always fall short.” Somehow the word always can cut deep and sting more than other uses of it. Unlike the word love, which hides itself in our actions, always steps out in front like BOOM, I just said it! Language has romanced me this week and I am growing a deeper appreciation for it. Always even looks good in French - - - TOUJOURS … “Je voudrais toujours ĂȘtre votre ami”

TOP FIVE COOL THINGS ABOUT ALWAYS

1.      Always implies dependability most
2.      There is a certain security in the word always
3.      Always can have a double meaning ( ALL WAYS)
4.      People tend to use the word always as a term of endearment
5.      Always can give hope to the hopeless (1 Sam 11:15-KJV)

“If a June night could talk, it would probably boast it invented romance.” -Bern Williams

Low Points

This week I had very little will power. I’ll admit it. I indulged in my appetites heartily. I ate, drank, spent, lounged and cosseted a little too much. Hmmm…… Perhaps I deserve a little decadence though. I do work hard, most would say that I am a pretty awesome guy and I do believe that people should be rewarded for their hard work or a job well done. You’ve earned the luxury of sampling the luxurious. Will power keeps excess in check though and this week I possessed very little of it. Usually my will power tells me that I could find a better use for my money instead of spending it here or there. Will power would tell me to deny that sweet dark chocolate and vanilla cheesecake that somehow seems to totally go great as dessert after a tray of hot wings. Finally will power would cut me off after two well-poured vodka and cranberry’s and tell me to tap out instead of going an extra round. However, I’m back now. Rigid, obedient, calculating, methodical, visionary John who doesn’t need to always have his way or see things differently. I have my will power back, I think. I guess I will see. Hahahahahaha

DAILY INSANITY:
Three Words: Take a break
In the game of basketball players take breaks. They are necessary. Phenomenal coaches understand that no matter how great their team is and no matter how awesome the game is going every now and again breaks are needed in order to regroup and regain focus on what’s important. Sometimes coaches call timeouts when they are in the lead and things are going well too. This is done to remind players of the ultimate goal of the game, which is to win! Take your breaks!
