Discoveries:
This week I discovered that
for me writing is therapeutic for me, my very own treatment. Sometimes those
closest to you are not available to coach you through an issue or they merely
don’t care enough (at the time) to assist you by offering a comforting word or
gesture. During those times words are my hugs and statements are my solace. As
a younger male, when the world seemed like it was caving in I turned to writing
and churned out three novels, all unique in nature and reflections of what I
felt at the time. Later I used blogging to represent my inner voice and
unspoken truths. Now, I keep a journal and chronicle important moments in my
life. I jot down memories that I deem noteworthy or wildly interesting (at
least in my mind). I also write about the other half of life, my frustrations,
disappointments, let downs and shortcomings. Why pay a shrink when I have
writing.

High Points:
One of my high points this
week is that I started my 30-day enrichment challenge. One afternoon I had a
crazy thought. Why not accomplish something truly significant and enriching to
my life every day for thirty consecutive days? Interesting notion huh? Sadly,
sometimes we break the promises that we make to ourselves and make a conscious
choice to put others needs ahead of ours. Then when we don’t measure up, feel
satisfied or gain what we thought we should we resent those we sacrificed for.
Well, that’s not gonna be me. I made a list (a pretty interesting one too)
composed of thirty “to-do’s” that will make my life better. While I’m not going share my entire list with
you, I will toss you a few nuggets to give you a glimpse at my objectives. Commence!
TOP FIVE COOL THINGS ON MY LIST ALWAYS
1. Spend an entire
afternoon at an Art museum
2. Enjoy a great lunch
with a phenomenal friend
3. Teach my son how to
drive a car (Jesus take the wheel)
4. Submit my novel
blueprints to the Library of Congress
5. Take a 15-mile trek
from one city to another

when my 'To Do' list is smaller than my 'Been There, Done that' list.” -Unknown
Low
Points
This week I chose to be
blatantly distant and unavailable. I would hear the phone ringing and see the
flashing indicators signaling a text message. I saw the waves from afar, the
missed call icons on my wireless device. I scrolled past your name on the email
inbox list and I purposefully ignored and disregarded statements that you made
and for that, I apologize to you world. I am better now.
DAILY INSANITY:
Three Words: Well, it depends
In honor of those that use the response, “ Well, it depends” I salute you. Way to be the antithesis of definite. I salute you for not choosing a side and sparing your well-kept feelings. NEWSFLASH: No one likes a person who teeter-totters and straddles the fence. People respect people who are direct. I am off of my indecisiveness sucks rant.
