Discoveries:
This week I discovered that
sometimes you want more. Some people would call it greed and use the rationale
that whatever you currently have should be enough but sometimes it’s just not.
In my time on this earth I’ve found that constant improvement should be
celebrated not circumvented. While no one truly knows the formula for complete
happiness what I can say is that if given time and enough experiences you tend
to look at the word more in a whole new light. Maybe it’s that extra mile on
the treadmill or that extra photo that will later become a memory, what I’m
saying is that there’s nothing wrong with wanting, hell even expecting more.
G.K Chesterton, author and thinker said “There are two ways to get enough. One
is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.”

High Points:
Lunchtime for me has been nothing
short of incredible. As an executive you are allotted a few fringe benefits.
Some of them include having an expense account, getting branded trinkets and having
access to phenomenal tools that help you negotiate and communicate ideas
better. But hands down, one of my favorite perks is the power lunch. A true power lunch either helps you learn more about
your target, more about (their) business or more about yourself. During the
last few weeks I have been approaching lunch with a wholly open mind with no
expectations. Isn’t that the best way? I have learned how to entertain and
captivate my audience. I have also mastered the art of truly listening during
the exchange. Tomorrow I could feel different but today lunchtime is slowly becoming
my favorite part of the day.
TOP FIVE COOL THINGS ABOUT DOING LUNCH
1. Lunch helps you
refuel and tackle the 2nd half of your day2. Lunch is the perfect temporary escape from your circumstance
3. You are surrounded by dozens of interesting people all with a unique story
4. You control how amazing the food and drinks are because you pick the place
5. Whether you eat alone or with a companion, you always have a great time!
“A man may be a pessimistic determinist before lunch and an optimistic believer in the will's freedom after it.”
― Aldous Huxley

Points
Sometimes I worry about
things I cannot control. For example, I worry whether or not I have or I’ll get
to leave my mark on this world. I go back and forth in my mind about whether or
not music will inspire me again. Sometimes I care about the wrong things or
people or situations. My mind only has so much room in it, why should I fill it
up with nonsense? It’s not like those things are thinking about me. That is
all.
DAILY INSANITY:
Three Words: Opposites Attract
It’s true, opposites attract. How else could you explain the sheer perfection of a perfect ice cream sundae, an Oreo cookie or wine and cheese? I believe the balance is created from the two things being so different. It’s intriguing to say the least. One of the most well-known symbol of opposites attracting is the Taoist visual Yin-Yang symbol, also known as the Taiji. Now I don’t follow or practice their belief system but I can appreciate the image which consists of a circle divided into two teardrop-shaped halves - one white and the other black. Within each half is a smaller circle of the opposite color. Take time to truly at the symbol as art. You’ll soon see what I have; one side depends (heavily) on the other to find balance.
