Change The Beautiful Dream

Discoveries:
This week I discovered that a change of pace is welcoming. We all get stuck in the monotony of the day to day. We wake, bathe, cook, drive, work, drive, cook, socialize, sleep then repeat. While there is nothing wrong with stability sometimes routine robs us of our extemporaneous nature. Human beings crave surprise. There’s nothing more exciting than an injection of uncertainty. Sometimes it’s delivered when you take a walk and discover something new at other times it’s when you appreciate the old or forgotten. Change is the ambassador to exhilaration and its sole responsibility is to open the mind.

High Points:
I no longer have writers block. I am so excited! As a man who has penned more than 300 blogs, five novels and can boast major publication credits in physical magazines and online journals one would imagine that the ideas dry up from time to time. When they do there are two ways you can look at it. In the one hand you can choose to feel vacant and hollow, get comfortable in dwelling in the desolation. Or you can embrace the emptiness and fill the void with experiences that will inspire you. There’s nothing nil about involvement. Perhaps you find inspiration from something or someone. Maybe it’s something you see or hear. It could be a song or a photos, either way you are inspired. Rediscover your dream. As Langston Hughes said, “Hold fast to dreams. For if dreams die life is a broken-winged bird, that cannot fly.” Once you remember your dream the words will pour out of you.

TOP FIVE COOL THINGS ABOUT HAVING DREAMS

 1.      Dreams are vivid and in hi-def
2.      Dreams are only limited by the imagination
3.      Dreams are our very own and no one can molest them
4.      Dreams let you become anyone or anything you want to be
5.      Dreams are surprise you and always seem to come right on time!

“Dreams are illustrations from the book your soul is writing about you.”― Marsha Norman

 Low Points
I shut down my Facebook account. Yup, I sure did. I found myself so hopelessly inert and dependent on virtual interaction that I forgot to live in the real world. The shame comes not from deleting the social media account but from allowing it to dictate my social experience. I’ll be honest, I have had withdrawal. In the past I would call my friends or dare I say it, stop by and politic with them. We’d spend hours catching up or talking about current events. All of that stopped, I was enslaved by convenience. It was so easy to click a button or do a hand gesture and check in. Not anymore. Call me old fashioned but I like face-to-face communication and real life social interaction.

DAILY INSANITY:
Two Words: Oh Really?
These two words when paired are unreservedly insightful. For instance, if someone asks you any of the below statements to you a response of “Oh really?!?” takes them by surprise. It is a smarty pants way of saying tell me more or I don’t believe you so prove it. Take a look at the questions and tell me if you agree or not:

·         Did you know I had tickets to the playoff game?
·         I really enjoyed hanging out with you today
·         That meal you prepared was awesome
·         I don’t have any plans tonight
·         I think you’re beautiful

BUZZ WORD:   PREPOSSESSING - -
Definition: Attractive or appealing in appearance.

Question of the day:
