Discoveries:
Today I discovered that the semester is finally over. At 34, taking finals is a challenge. I so wish that I would have finished school the first time around. I traded in my books for bread (money) and became the baker. My passion is writing and the creative arts but my advanced skillset is in communications, sales specifically. I am about 26 hours away from having my Bachelor’s degree so I can’t stop now. I can knock it out. The good news is that I enjoy reading so picking up the concepts is pretty easy. I have had conversations with many people I respect, degreed people and they have made the following admissions:
· Some degrees are easy to get
· Much of learning now involves memorization
· People who test well don’t necessarily learn or get educated
· Many people prefer easy classes versus ones that challenge them
· Many people change majors because of one or two difficult classes
Regardless of the aforementioned, I’m getting my piece of paper, and then another and another and another…….
High Points:
Man the pounds are dropping like flies. Over the last four weeks I’ve lost 21 pounds. Pardon my conceit but that’s remarkable! What’s my secret? Nothing BIG really. I merely eliminated all fluids from my regular day-to-day except for water, good ol’ H20. If I get thirsty I grab a bottle of water. Next I used an awesome program my wife turned me on to called www.myfitnesspal.com . It is a highly interactive tool that lets you scan barcodes, enter in the foods you eat and track your exercise to help you make progress. Then I try to break a sweat every single day. I tend to do this easily by briskly walking two to three miles every day. That’s it, no magic formula. Diet, exercise and smart decisions.
Themes for the Day
· Boy you lookin’ good
· Is that a six pack forming?
· “Nah man,,,heading to the gym bro”
Low Points:
No low points this week!!!!!
MASTER:
Noun, plural mas·ter- - -
Command or grasp, as of a subject, superiority or victory
I am so proud of Mrs. Williams for setting a positive example for me and my children by embracing education. She has been working and doing night classes for nearly two years and now she is about to receive her Mast’s Degree! WOO HOO!!!!!
DAILY INSANITY:
One Word: Chipotle
OMG,,,, My diet plan was almost derailed this week by one of my favorite places: Chipotle. It’s amazing to see the time and care Chipotle takes with its ingredients. Here is an excerpt from their website: “we source organic and local produce when practical. And that we use dairy from cows raised without the use of synthetic hormones. Food with Integrity is a journey that started more than a decade ago and one that will never end.”
