Discoveries:

Today I discovered that life is about, well,,,life. My younger brother and his wife welcomed their second child, a beautiful little girl named Sariah Kaitlin Williams .  In my family males outnumber females 3-to-1. Gleefully, I got the opportunity to be at my brother's side and be his support system during this confusing moment in his life. Grant it, women do all of the physical work but the emotional toll of ushering in a new edition is something that takes it's toll on men. Any good man wants to provide for his family and make sure that his bride never has to worry about provision. Part of this charge is ensuring that her emotional needs are cared for but what about us? Who comforts us and tells us it'll all be okay? Who tells men that things will fall into place. Oftentimes it's that good buddy, uncle or brother who has been gifted with the uncanny ability to actually  get through to you. I was there for my brother. I helped him get through. What a great feeling!

High Points:

My car finally got repaired. As cool as cruising around in a brand new rental is I miss my car. She has been my old faithful. I have been with my Chrysler since she was just 50,000 miles old. Now at more than 100,000 miles we have see half of the country together. She's built just how I like. My 300 is curvy, kinda sleek, I can take her to the hood or to the gala, Even thought we've been in a relationship for a while every time I look at her it's like I am seeing her for the first time. I wash her lady parts, and even vacuum out her insides to  keep her clean.  Every now and again she'll let me wax her. I am picking her up in a few days and I think I am gonna take her out for a drive and get her a drink (of gasoline) . Don't worry baby, I'm coming....

Themes for the Day

  • Where is my Tire Wet spray?
  • When is my warranty up?
  • I'm gonna pay that car note off!
 Low Points:

It's time for a change. There are distinct differences between work, a gig, job, and a career. For the past five years I have been trying to understand those differences. Perhaps it's not so much about the destination as it is about the  journey. I need to be sure that the place I devote a third of my day to is a career and not merely a place that I can exchange time for money. Further, a career does not define who I am as an individual but it should give me an opportunity to leave some form of legacy whether direct or indirect. Over the next several weeks I will be examining this notion in my day-to-day dealings.
