Discoveries:
Today I discovered that solitude isn’t so bad. For the last thirteen years I have been focused on living life for others. As the man of my house it’s my job to make sure that possibility exists. Nowadays it’s impossible to guarantee anything but I have become exceedingly efficient at making anything possible. It’s called hope. In my home we embrace hope but rarely do the hopeful see how hopeless the sacrificial feel when they are inundated with uber responsibility, unreal expectations and the heavy load. Sometimes all we need is a break. That’s exactly what I received, a well-deserved break. For the next week and some change I will be alone, in a sense. The kids are at Grammies house and while nothing can replace their presence, love or the crazy sounds they make when they play XBOX, Kung Fu Master and “Rack-n-KacK” I must admit, the silence is kinda nice! ,
High Points:
I am a road warrior! In the last week I have seen six states and have driven more than 2000 miles. There’s a certain mystique involved with taking a road trip. It has its stages and layers. First there’s the prequel, which consists of you loading your mP3 playing with your favorite hits, packing your luggage, great snacks, maps and anything else that will make your drive pleasant. Then you have the actual drive which is the most fun and grueling. Have you ever watched the sun go down and then rise again while moving at 75mph? It’s truly remarkable to see time pass you by. Then you arrive. All of a sudden your weariness wears away and you get energized because you’ve made it to your destination. I could go on and on but I won’t, just know this if you have never taken a road trip you’re missing out on life my friend!

Low Points:
I had to drive through Little Rock, Arkansas again. For those of you that know my sentiment towards this southern city I need not state my feelings about this town. If given a choice between walking barefoot on glass then jumping into a footbath full of isopropyl alcohol or staying a single night in Little Rock I would gleefully choose the foot torture. I had a really bad experience there once. Just know this, that HBO special Bangin’ in Little Rock was spot on with their portrayal of certain aspects of life there. Geez Louise !!
DAILY INSANITY:
One Word: Spotify
I downloaded the new Spotify Mobile App this past weekend and was blown away by its ease of use, integration and On Demand music selection. Watch out Pandora, this might be the new lick!!!
