Discoveries:
Today I discovered that Mother’s
Day can sometimes be a sad occasion for many who have either lost or never knew
their mothers. Too many times, those of us who have been blessed to have loving
mother’s take for granted the warmth, comfort, strength, knowledge and
nurturing that comes with having a mama. Naturally, for most women who give
birth, love is a free gift that they willfully give to the world and gleefully
give to the offspring. This year, let’s not let the hustle and bustle of the
day-to-day wear us down and keep us from reaching out to our mother’s. Despite
my charge to you in this blog, many will let the chip on their shoulders and
the animosities in their hearts prevail. Instead of making the effort to reach
out to the matriarchs in their lives they’ll make excuses. It’s unacceptable to
not pick up the phone and call. The misconception is that you need to have a
formal reason to make that call guess what? You don’t. In fact, the best
conversations are the ones that aren’t planned. Reach out to mama, she’ll be
happy to hear from you.
High Points:
I graduated. Yes,
earned a degree. In between being a husband, father, brother, son, Executive,
radio host, Blogger, CEO and creative arts advocate I managed to take enough
courses and pass enough classes to get that piece of paper. As much as I like
pomp and circumstance I actually opted out of the graduate ceremonies and
decided to celebrate in my own way, I put the boys to sleep, poured a glass of
wine, sat outside in the twilight and reflected about everything it took to get
to this point. My next academic step, unsure, maybe I will keep going. Perhaps
I’ll enroll in another college, take another class earn a better degree, write
another novel, incorporate my company or write a screenplay. Who knows? For now
I will revel in the satisfaction of a goal achieved.
Themes for the Day
· Does GPA matter?
· How many credit hours do I need
· Go to college for an education, not a degree
· Degrees don’t always secure you dollars, don’t be a fool
l have been waking up three and four times a night to use the bathroom. Thank goodness they're #1's and not #2's. I feel the need to tinkle more often now then when I was 25. What is that? I declare to you I don't take in the amount of fluids I release. It's like a game or something, only it's one that happens in the middle of the night. It's getting bad, I started keeping a leger of the times I awaken. For whatever reason 2:03, 3:31, 4:26 and 5:45 are special numbers to my bladder. I am going to go get checked out. Maybe I need some help.
