My Lady

Musical Inspiration for this BLOG:

The Isley Brothers – Who's That Lady?

(Meant to be played while reading)

Discoveries:

Today I discovered that the love that my wife has for me is the greatest love of all. She is more than amazing! Why was I chosen to receive this blessing? It truly is unknown to me. Yeah, I’m handsome, charismatic, funny and look great in a suit but when I’m with her it’s clear that I’m the one who married up. Maybe I was blessed for being obedient.  Perhaps it’s because of my grandmother’s prayers or my father’s untimely death. Maybe it’s because of my mother’s sacrifice over the years. Maybe it’s because God knew that without her I would have a life less exciting, focused and purposeless. Throughout our 13 year relationship she has supported me, my projects, my hopes and has encouraged me to chase after my dreams. Guess what? I’m gaining on those dreams too because of her. Even when I got off to a bad start in certain areas of my life she stuck around. She never condemned or judged me, in fact, even when I was a complete monster (metaphorically speaking) she stuck around. I love that woman!

High Points:

I kept my vow to get my lawn in order. You should have seen it; I declare I had African savannah growing in my back yard. My grass was almost three feet high. Also, what are those prickly weeds that look like flowers? I scratched the hell out of myself messing around with it. Why does mulch never stay where you initially put it? Even though my lawn mower ran out of gas and my shears were too dull to trim my hedges I got it done. The power of Home Depot will now help me fertilize my bluegrass and free my property from bugs and the coffee mug–sized mosquitoes that keep trying to suck the blood out of me. Now I can finally host a barbeque or play with my boys on the lawn instead of in the middle of the streets like we still live in Chicago.

Themes for the Day

·         Pass me the fertilizer

·         Did I cut the grass too low?

·         Are my hedge clippers in the garage?

·         Honey, I’m going to bring out my hammock

·         I’m gonna plant some flowers and grow some herbs

Low Points:

Money has been funny, well not funny, it’s been hilarious. This economy is stretching us all out isn’t it? Perhaps not. I believe that being rich is a state of mind. I am in between blessings right now. I have everything that I need and many of the things that I want. I wanted to take my family to see the new Cirque Du Soleil traveling show Quidam this past weekend but we didn’t need to see it. Instead, my wife and I chose to be responsible. We paid ourselves the put money towards our Disney vacation. While we were not able to watch the Cirque magic here in Dallas, in a few months we will be in Disneyworld, the most magical place on earth! That’s a fair trade, at least in my book. Besides, we can always catch a Cirque show. Disneyworld with the family is a once in lifetime chance to create a memory that they will never forget!

DAILY INSANITY:
Four Words: Getting better with age
My sweetie-pie is looking sexy! Lately she has been wearing these little numbers,,, wait, that’s private! To me, it seems like each day she gets more beautiful, funny, brilliant and amazing. It’s like I am seeing her for the first time all over again. When she walks into the room I want to jump her bones. That’s a good thing in any marriage!
