Spring Sorrow

Marvin Gaye – What's Going On?

(Meant to be played while reading)

Discoveries:

Today I discovered that I've still got game! Basketball is one of my favorite sports and although I never played college ball or made it to the league I have been a hooper since the age of thirteen. For the last few years, I have turned to pickup basketball games at healthclubs. These high energy games help me stay healthy, I get to compete and in a way I keep my hoop dreams alive. fter examining my skills I realize that I am a much better player now than when I was a younger. My jumpshot is more fluid now than when I was a teenager . I usedto slingshot the ball up to the goal with no technique. l run the floor better and have developed pretty good court vision. The unfortunate thing is that I no longer have a 40-inch vertical and weigh 170lbs . Not to worry though, my basketball IQ makes up for my diminshing athletic ability. I feel blessed to be able to get up and down the court at 33 years old. Some days I play for 2 or 3 hours and walk out feeling like I'm MJ.

High Points:

I need a weekend getaway! It's time to hit the highway, take a road trip and find an adventure to get into. Whether I find a relaxing spot to unwind at, a resort style property to get pampered in or an exciting city that Iknow little about it's time to vacate my house and see something new. I have a few ideas about where to go but I am open to pretty much anything. Houston, Austin and San Antonio are all a tank of gas away. Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma are also very close to where I call home. I am goign to search the web for that ideal spring getwawy deal. Wish me luck and send me suggestions.

hemes for the Day

· And 1!

· I got nextPass me the rock

· Making a shot is cool but stick some "D"

· Honey, I'll be home in a sec, my team is winning

Low Points:

I don't have any summer clothes. What happened to them? Where are all of those graphic tees and cargo shorts I purchased? It gets too hot in Texas to walk around in jeans during 100 degree weather. I'm gonna have to hit up a Macy's or Old Navy and recoup my hot weather apparel. The good news is that department stores will start advertising their Spring sales pretty soon. I have an outlet mall right around the corner from my house. This year I am going to buy enough shorts, swimtrunks, tees and workout gear to keep me fashionable and cool during summertime 2012.

How the hell is Sanford police department is able to go to sleep at night without having this on their conscience bewilders the heck out of me. What bothers me the most is how public officials are putting all this red tape in between themselves and hiding behind these "Stand Your Ground" Laws that were put in place by none other than the governor of Florida. Why is it that whenever a Bush is involved that death, ignorance and destruction is right there to follow. I'm all for carrying and concealing a weapon, however this wasn't at all in self-defensive. If we don't take a stand now and make sure justice is served (and I don't mean some bullshit 2-3 year prison term for manslaughter), you might as well post a big sign in bold letters saying"IT'S OPEN SEASON ON NIGGERS!"

I don't how in the heck can anybody that works for the Sanford Police Department can sleep at night from how coincidently racist and negligent they were with this case. They must not have a conscience. I'm for carry and conceal, but clearly Zimmerman didn't murder this boy in self-defense. What bothers me the most is how politicians are hiding behind all the red tape of bogus laws like "Stand your Ground" that make it ok for people to walk away scottfree if they shoot ANYBODY and guess who this law was made by? None other than the governor of Florida. Why is it that whenever it comes to a Bush, death, ignorance and destruction seem to follow? I tell you if we don't take a stand now to make sure justice is served (and I don't mean just serving a 2-3 year prison term for manslaughter) you might as well post a sign in BOLD letters saying "ITS OPEN SEASON ON YOU NIGGERS!"
