Discoveries:
Today I discovered that sometimes you need to just get away. Have you ever wanted to go to an airport and hop on the first plane that was taking off? To me the destination is not as important as the fact that you are actually going. There is a feeling we get when we know we are about to go out of town that is only matched by the elation we receive from actually arriving there. Maybe it’s the new scenery, weather or people. Perhaps it’s the actuality that you had the nerve to really do it. The uncertain mysteriousness of being in an unfamiliar town with different scenery and roads, restaurants and rules acts as a catalyst for adventure. You get the chance to become another you, dare I say,,,, a better self. Your senses are heightened and you enjoy life much , much more. What are you waiting on? Take a break from reading my blog and book a flight today! .
High Points:
My high point today involved me denying myself an indulgence which many of us believe is fair play. While I have chosen not to go into detail about it, I will provide a few scriptural references for those who want to be head of the class.I have realized that not everything that we want to do for, by, with and to ourselves is good for us. It’s like eating cake; too much of it is bad for you. You may not gain lots of weight (right away) or pass out from some form of sugar induced coma but you will prove to yourself that you have little to no will power and that you are not firm in your convictions. If you are willing to sabotage your merits, compromise your character and lie to yourself you’d probably lie to anyone on earth.

Low Points:
I haven’t gone to the dry cleaners in at least 3 weeks. Instead I have been ironing my clothes each morning and taking it old school with the spray starch and hot iron. I have some pretty good homemaking skills but no matter how hard I try, no matter how much force or steam I use to press my clothes out my end product never looks as crisp and put together as when the launderer does it. There is a simple elegance in seeing a shirt that has been pressed right with heavy starch. I might just break down and take my shirt collection in to get that executive touch. I have saved enough bread, my shirts look like balled up homework paper man.
DAILY INSANITY:
2 Words – Layover Flights
Seriously, why do consumers have to go to a city way out of the way before getting to the destination that they truly want to get to? It’s buffoonery, if I live in Dallas and want to go to Chicago, why am I stopping in Denver? If I live in New York and I want to go to Miami, why does my plane have to stop in Atlanta? Airline companies,,,,,, really, really?!?!?
Question
What is the craziest layover situation that you have ever experienced?
