Discoveries:
Today I discovered that I need to start going to the barbershop. For the last decade not only have I cut, styled and handled up on my own cranium, I have been cutting my son's hair also. Before you get images of a crying ten year old with patches and plugs cut of his head please understand that I have been cutting hair since my freshman year of high school and I am pretty good at it. In fact, I even earned a little money from hustlin on the side but truthfully speaking, I'm tired! I'm tired of oiling up the clippers, sanitizing the blades, getting neck pain from all the weird angles, asking my subject to "be still" dozens of times. I want to feel the easiness of sitting in a chair, relaxing and getting groomed. I need to find a shop fast!
High Points:
My little brother bought an amazing house that rivals the mini-mansions you see on the show This Old House. It was amazing watching him and his wife take a structure that was in really bad shape and turn it into a masterpiece. The home is simply stunning, complete with original wood-workings and floors and more than 5 bedrooms. I can't wait to get back to Chicago to see it for myself post-construction. Another big highlight is that I oficially began my next novel today. I took a break from writing books to focus on film but with (2) screenplays under my belt and a finished film, it's time to get back to my roots and pump out another book.
Low Points:
I have a choice to make, go back to school and be broke, or make decent money now and forego school (again). It seems like the older I get the more I regret not going back. I can't seem to find the right timing for it. I truly thought that I would be done by now and enjoying the fruits of my labor. Will it take an innate selfishness of a driven CEO or gold digger for me to move forward with my schooling. Time will tell, I guess nice guys really do finish last, literally.
Question
School now/Job later or Job now/School later?
