Scary Doctor Business

Discoveries:

I discovered a George Bancroft quote that really hit home. He said “Dishonesty is so grasping it would deceive God himself, were it possible.” Really think about that for a second, deceive God? Wow! There are so many levels to the uncleanliness of dishonesty. As a man who embraces character and morals I admit that sometimes it’s difficult denying our secular impulses. But that’s what make us believers. Many try to swindle then blame it on necessity or say that they infracted because they were in a position off need but in actuality, I believe it’s because they have little faith. Instead of trusting Him to provide we try to do it ourselves.

UTTERLY AWESOME LINKS-OF-THE-WEEK

High Points:

I decided to start a business, well another one to be exact. In the past decade I have dabbled in writing, broadcasting, marketing and even apparel. This week I buckled down and conceptualized an idea so unique and personal that it could be the very thing that helps me shake the corporate 9-to-5. I had to consider all of my talents, gifts and abilities uncover my avenue. A couple of audio sermons from Bishop T.D Jakes didn’t hurt either. Over the next few weeks I will be praying, taking chances, leveraging my connections and going out on a limb to make my concepts come to life. Wish me well.

TEN REASONS I'D START A BUSINESS OF MY OWN

1.      I'd have control over how much I earn

2.      I'd have more time for my interests and self-improvement

3.      I want to leave a legacy to my children

4.      I am not afraid to fall on my face and fail

5.      I have several great ideas that can help humanity

6.      I believe in myself more than the leaders I serve

7.      I'd feel more challenges

8.      I have the gift of gab

9.      Why not?

10.  God’s on my side

Themes for the Day:
“Unless you create your own future, you are a slave to someone else’s” –Alan Marsden

 LOW POINTS:

Last week I found out that a few family members who are near and dear to me are too stubborn to see a physician for help with their ailments and illnesses. Why are older people so set in their ways? I had to practically plead with them to get them to commit to going. Some things can’t be healed with a couple of aspirin and a good night’s sleeps. There’s nothing shameful about seeing a specialist about a health issue. They are the experts, we are not.

 DAILY INSANITY:
Two Words: Pay Me
Do I really need to explain this one? The whole reason why I’m considering entrepreneurism is because companies are refusing to pay solid employees a fair wage for the duties they expect.

BUZZ WORD:  WATERZOOI
Definition:  A type of broth based on fish or chicken, with vegetables, cooked in a thick stock.

Question of the day:
If you could go into business for yourself what would you do?
