Discoveries: Today I discovered that not everyone embraces the coming of the New Year. Some people hold on to the precedent and live in the past. Don’t get me wrong, everyone is susceptible to a little nostalgia, especially when the memories they grip are the best ones they choose to remember. However, it’s the unique combination of good and bad that help define who we are and become as individuals. We can’t always be on time, sometimes we’re late. That’s just the way it is. The bad memories should not be shut out of our mind because they are reminders of how resilient, splendid and tempered we are.
Musical Inspiration for this BLOG:
Auld Lang Syne – (from “It’s A Wonderful Life”
High Points:
I am actually keeping up my new journal. Since my birthday I have been recording thoughts, ideas, possibilities and memories in a leather bound 8’x5’ booklet. The goal is to write one meaningful journal entry each day. Nothing too extravagant, just the main ideas or themes from my day. It’s funny what the brain chooses to recall. At the end of the year I will go back and read the entries for strength, clarity and direction for the next year.
Next year I’m going to Times Square in NYC
DAILY INSANITY:
Two Words: Lactose Intolerant

Low Points:
I have been unusually blunt lately. Is that a bad thing? Perhaps it’s bad when you are curt with the one’s you love but okay if you are terse with strangers. Either way I am committing to taming my harsh tongue. The bible says, in the book of Proverbs that “the one who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps his life from troubles Proverbs 21:23). It is so true. Two Words: Lactose Intolerant
What’s the deal with me and dairy products? Anytime I try to enjoy ice cream or milk I get the dreaded bubble guts! Seriously, it sounds like an explosion goes off in my stomach. Do you know how many meals and dessert items require milk? My bowels can no longer take the physiological coaster ride. I am tired of getting bloated and passing SBD’s (Silent but Deadly) in the other room. Okay, that’s gross (but real). It’s so bad that I am seriously considering giving dairy altogether. Anyone else out there plagued by this?
