Discoveries:
Today I discovered that fierce negotiators are the most persuasive beings on earth. To take an idea or a concept and convince another to embrace as their own it takes a myriad of skills. Inception, dare I say it. You need to be a counselor, a researcher, an orator, aggressive, astute, discretionary, careful and elusive all at the same time. One can never know when the exact moment will strike but when it does you must be ready. An expert negotiator can finesse vernacular and body language with the mastery of Monet holding a brush. It truly is a beautiful thing to watch, even if you are merely watching yourself.
High Points:
Today I shared a conversation with an old friend, a man that I highly respect and he shared his wisdom with me. We discussed life and the challenges we were having living it. We occupied the empty phone space with respectful words and well wishes. Being able to participate in an intriguing verbal exchange was only the beginning. We laughed and joked, shared insights and agreed to pray for one another. Although we don't talk often, that's what I call a friend.
Low Points:
I didn't play my piano yesterday. I had every intention to but lately I have been displeased with the sound coming from the keys. It needs to be tuned. Normally I would just tune it and call it a day but I am thinking about getting a new piano, a baby grand. Yamaha makes a pretty good baby grand. Yes it will cost me a little more than a simple $99 tune up but it will be worth it. I get so much enjoyment from playing the piano, it's like giving yourself your own therapy. I go to my ipod, find a song that I adore and then challenge myself to learn how to play it, to hear all the notes, to figure out the puzzle and make all the keys link up together in harmony. I won't miss playing tomorrow.
Daily Insanity:
Today a coworker said, to my face, that her hometown team, the Green Bay Packers, would win the NFL Superbowl. What! As native Chicagoan, not only did the comment resonate deeply withing my soul and resurface and a display of purposeful insolence, I was shocked that she fixed her lips to speak the words. Grant it, the Packers have motivated millions of Cheeseheads around the country but Da Bears have been the object of discussion all year long. A wager was in order. We made a bet, if my Bears win, she has to wear my Chicago Bears jersey that is personalized with my name on the back. If the packers win, I have to wear her Cheesehead helmet. Come through for me orange and blue!
Question
How would you feel if the Chicago Bears won the Superbowl?
