Discoveries:
Today I discovered that even in a room full of opposition I look my challengers square in the eye then battle and compete with an energetic fervor reminiscent of a prize fighter. It shouldn’t surprise me that my strength is not always embraced. Oftentimes, even when my sincerity is apparent, genuine and marinated in the best of intentions, I am met with antagonism and resistance in all that I do. Perhaps I am special, apropos,,,I AM SPECIAL. I have learned to embrace defiance it in all that I do; in fact I tend to feel empty without such an antithesis. Hate me and I’ll love you. The best revenge is no revenge at all.
High Points:
I spent time with my youngest son Xavier, Zave for short, he’s 3. We walked; we talked, drew pictures, played with his toys and watched TV. I let him be in charge of the remote this time. Like me has his lineup of favorite shows. He loves anything on Nickelodeon, Yo Gabba Gabba and Dora. Go ahead, tease me! Not only do I have awareness of those shows, I am an avid fan. Once Xavier finds his fix on the tube, turning the channel away is simply out of the question. Like his father, he has an affinity for art and music. We sat in my recliner and watched episode after infantile episode in elation. I truly enjoy his comedies. He is also a bit of a clown; his jokes are childlike and purposeful. His laugh makes me laugh. It’s nasal and I love watching it take form. I see that set of pearly whites and they are so familiar to me. After a long day of playing hard he did what his father would do. He found a down comforter and fell asleep on that same Lazy-Boy recliner. Like father like son.
Low Points:
I took the high road. Perhaps this shouldn’t be a low point but it feels like one. Have you ever been in a conversation with another person identified the exact moment that they tried to handle you? I have grown keen in my days on this earth. What’s tragic is that the other person participating in the conversation actually views your conceding as a personal victory. Who truly wins? No one wins. So, instead of setting them straight or helping them locate errs in their ways I instead decided to ingest their ideals and defaecate it outward via silence. After all silence is golden, not brown like the bullshit they were speaking. Don’t word wrestle with me, my vernacular is spectacular!
Daily Insanity:
I sat at my piano and learned how to play (2) new songs in their entirety in less than an hour. It’s amazing how easily the music comes to me. Sometimes I wish I would have continued on with my initial plan to be a vocal performer on Broadway. I am a pretty good pianist and vocalist. I was formally trained at Illinois State University as well as Southern Illinois University. I have performed on stages all across the USA. I met Dr. Moses Hogan and shook his hand before he died. I sang bass with the Morehouse Glee Club when they visited my high school and I record music often. My music and math courses were the only ones that I received straight A’s in. As a Marketing Executive for a radio station I get the opportunity to use a bit of both my passions. Who knows, there’s still time. In 2011 look for me to create a musical piece and publish it with the Library of Congress. It will be a choral hymn written for SATB that will be centered around biblical principals with undertones that address loss and touch on hope.

There are too many songs to name. My dad made me play name that tune. Music is far from being one-dimensional and there are infinite tunes that ring out in my ear. So many melodies......
I agree with Karla but the one song that makes me sit still. Gotta Find Peace of Mind Lauryn Hill
