Discoveries:
Today I discovered that there is so much in a name. In my opinion I have a strong simple name. John R Williams, not to stroke my ego any more but it sounds official, like someone important. However, until I defined it, the sound of it rolling off of someone’s lips (unless in the throws of passion) never really did anything for me. However, take the names: D’Angelo Fontaine /Brutis Permentay/Bilal Sky/Malcolm Hightower/Kelechukwu N’Dambi/Madison Parks – They all have a special ring to them. They make you want to match a face with the name. While I’ve never considered changing my name or anything simple like that I do acknowledge that sometimes parents really set up their children for success or failure with a name. Just ask Alize Jenkins, Chevy Caprice Jackson, Booger Wilkins, Contaneesha Brown or Milky White.
High Points:
I have dinner with a friend that I have known for more than a decade. He and my family chopped it up over fine Mexican cuisine at the Texas beacon Pappasito’s. Service was great, the food was stupendous and the conversation was profound. Big shout out to Joe! I wish more people were as humble, resilient and understanding as you sir. You are my new hero.
Low Points:
This weekend I absolutely MUST clean my kitchen. It looks like a food hurricane hit it. I am usually on top of things but with the kids starting school and the change up in schedules a brother has been whooped. It’s cool because I will get it done, along with about 8 other small home improvements I need to make on other parts of the house. Someone let me borrow their HOME DEPOT charge card!

I do believe people judge others by their names. Growing up in the 80's I hated my name Ella E. Anthony everyone else had a name back then that seemed cool to me being a kid. Kisha, Rikiya, Shantae,Shavon,Shanina, Keyona. I can honestly say I stood out in class because my name was so uncommon. People would say you have the same first name like the famous jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald. But the weirdest name I have ever heard of was (Alize Chardonnay).
Le-a
pronounced lee/dash/a
