Stones and Cash

Discoveries:
Today I discovered that people love to sandbag in life. For those who are not privy “Sandbagging” is a commonly used term in the sales industry and it refers to the act of purposefully withholding one’s stash, intentionally holding back your ability or NOT admitting to one’s full potential. Example: You work in Sales, you have a $10,000 monthly quota, you spend the first half of the month busting your ass making sales and you achieve $15,000 in sales but at the end of the month when you tally up stats instead of telling the boss you made $15,000, you take the alternate route and claim less because you're trying to save the extra $5,000 for the next go round. Many would argue that this is smart, strategic and a way of life. I’d argue that sandbagging is the most coward way to approach life. Have the stones to tell statistics to go to hell. Don’t doubt yourself; you’ve done it once, do it again!

High Points:
I lost 5lbs in 3 days from my new diet. I think I agree with the dozens of smoothie companies across the US who moniker the slogan “Chewing is overrated” in fact it’s been unnecessarily glorified. Yeah, what real man doesn’t like stuffing his face with a burger (even veggie ones) and getting full. However, after 3 days of letting only fluids and liquids enter (and exit) my body I can see the results. I need to send this idea to The Biggest Loser! Wait, I’d better not, I feel like I’m about to pass out.

Low Points:
I need capital to complete my next film project. I have been promising myself I would reach out to investors that believed in my work enough to invest donations in $1000 increments but I have been staggalating and slow-playing (urban colloquialisms for procrastination) and I fear that if I don’t get on it at the height of my popularity (due to L’Armour Perdu Film release party) I may miss my chance. I have the ideas and the vision, I just need the cash!

Question
What are great fundraising ideas to raise capital for the Arts?
