Discoveries:

Today I discovered that in order to be viewed differently by a society full of impatient “NOW” generation leaders and career influencers who are more easily stimulated by visual variety and convenience than intellectual triumphs and true charisma I need to adjust my personal style. Who knew that it would become cool again to look like Cyndi Lauper or Eddie Arcadian’s girlfriend from The Last Dragon movie? I can understand the appeal behind a bold block color palette and I recognize the need for textures and patterns in everyday wear but I feel that timeless style involves a certain signature look. Andre 3000, Sean Connery and L.A Reid have mastered how to transcend time with their one-of-a-kind looks. As the autumn escapes us only to usher in the winter I took a few days to check out this year’s fall trends. I was surprised to see an absence of color. Browns, greens and oranges beat out bright yellows, blues and primary reds. Here is a glimpse of what Milan and Paris declared as Fall 2012 fashion.

High Points:
I’ve finally decided on a University to finish up my undergraduate degree. I toiled for months but finally elected the University of North Texas to finish my studies. They have an amazing Business program and a degree in Organizational Leadership with a focus in Entrepreneurship. I can’t wait to begin my classes in the spring. Aside from value and convenience, I feel that the institution is rooted in values that align with my beliefs and needs. UNT here I come, well not technically. In fact, I will be taking satellite courses and online classes just a few blocks away from my home at a new multi-million dollar facility in McKinney, TX. Wish me luck.

 Low Points:
I need a stress ball. Aside from a demanding career, as a husband and father of two I have other responsibilities that have forced me to want to yell, “I NEED A SPA DAY”, the good news is that I have one scheduled thanks to my wife’s recent Sweetest Day Gift. She has booked a full day for us a well-known haven of tranquility called KING SPA & SAUNA (http://www.kingspa.com/ ). It’s time man, it’s time. I cannot wait to bathe, swim, soak, steam and sauna my way back to wellness. They have great authentic Asian dishes and even a movie theater. Check them out; I believe they have locations all over the U.S.

DAILY INSANITY:
Two Words: John Coltrane
John Coltrane music is insane. It reaches the souls of the cultured and stricken, the aristocrats and hoodlums. When speaking in public about Coltrane’s jazz icon even the mere mention of his name conjures up a kaleidoscope of emotion. His demeanor oozed cool and his creations were as creative, interesting, vivid and complex as life. A thousand synonyms couldn’t do his music justice. If you don’t buy any other Coltrane albums get these. You won’t regret it!

Question of the day:  Why do people keep secrets?

In the life I've lead secrets are often held behind closed doors that read members only. They can cement bonds of unbreakable trust between brothers and spouses that most people will not experience their entire lives. However, there's always the other side of the coin. Secrets are held to protect the root of persons identity. Just like an undercover cop there are plenty of people that live double lives to get the information they want or until their mission is complete. Keeping secrets is like invisible queen on the chessboard. Insurance to level the playing field that before only the rich would have access to change the outcome in any situation. To sum it up in just one word it provides LEVERAGE.
