What matters most!

Discoveries:

Today I realized that it is most important to devote time to what matters most. Naturally, everyone prefers a life of decadence over one of constant necessity. However, have you ever thought about what it feels like to have everything and nothing at once? What disparity. Although the rich have pockets full of cash, they realize that there are some things that just can’t be bought with money. The truth is that many wealthy people aren’t really wealthy at all. They have money but they are not rich because they can’t afford the price tag on love.  Love cannot be purchased it is attained at an immeasurably high price. Since I have been fortunate enough to have found love, I must take care of what matters most, those that I love.

Top 5 Things that DON’T deserve your time:
1.      Jealousy
2.      Job Stress
3.      Family Drama
4.      Pointless Busywork
5.      Quarrelsome friends

High Points:
I played Mr. Mom while my wife was away on business. Ladies and gentlemen I held it down! You should have seen me in action. I made breakfast plates, oversaw violin practice sessions, fed the cat, cleaned the litter box, ensured that everyone bathed and clothed themselves. I drove to and from practically everywhere and kept the house clean. Okay, that’s a lie. Who am I kidding? Being a single parent was hard, very hard. I argued with my toddler, tried to reason with a gung-ho preteen, argued with co-workers and felt like a lost little boy each night. My experience has given me a newfound respect for single parents who do this seemingly thankless job on a daily basis. I am so glad that Mrs. Williams is back.

Low Points:
Last week I tried to maintain a vegetarian diet but I failed, horribly. It’s a shame too because I had been so good, nutritionally speaking. I made healthy soups, stir fry meals, snacked on raw vegetables and fresh fruits. Everything was fine until I turned it to Man vs. Food. What a great show. The host has the best job on earth! The host travels the country in search of the best and most unique foods. He samples the best cuisine USA has to offer and even embarks on food challenges like eating a bazillion oysters in a half hour or drinking a seven pound milkshake. The show I was watching profiled the city of Atlanta. He stopped at one of my favorite restaurants,  Gladys and Ron’s. They serve the best chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits and a meatloaf on the planet. As I sat there salivating, I found myself scouring the fridge looking for something to cook. When it was all said and done, I prepared baked chicken, mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. There goes my diet.

DAILY INSANITY:
Three Words: High Credit Limit
I can’t speak for you but as for me, I have never been extended a line of credit of more than $5000. I have never been a slave to the credit system, I don’t believe in it. It baffles me to see those credit analysts TV shows that feature financially irresponsible people who run up thousands of dollars in credit card charges. This one guest managed to rack up over $82,000 in charges in less than a year. What did she spend the money on you ask? Do I really need to answer? Come on female readers; say it together, in unison…… CLOTHES, BAGS and SHOES (again) CLOTHES, BAGS and SHOES (again) CLOTHES, BAGS and SHOES (again).

Question
What do you use your credit to splurge on?
