Closer than you think…

Discoveries:

Today I discovered that the ones we love, hold dear and care the most about are closer than we think. Although they may be in a different room, part of town, state of state of mind they dwell within our heart. As cliché as it may seem, we take them with us everywhere we go through memories. Memories are the mental projection the brain provides to allow us moments of reflection. I think about my late father, grandfather and just about anyone else significant to me and their name. When I speak their name, thousands of images (memories) come to mind. I think about times that we have laughed, talked, hugged, cried and shared moments. Even the times that we did nothing but occupy the same space count as valid landmarks in time. All of those memories help us to rebuild and endure when we think that we’re not gonna make it. Yet and still, their greatest purpose is to remind us that they are gone but never forgotten.

High Points:

I hit a tenor A-sharp in my natural voice. All of my vocal performance musician and creative souls out there realize the significance in that statement, especially since my natural voice resonates in the low register. I am a baritone but somehow, under the anointing of the spirit, God allowed me to reach down and pull that glorious note out during rehearsal. I hadn’t belted out that note since my high school concert choir days. Amen! It truly is all for His glory, when the performance get posted on the web I will share it with the world. This choir thing may be right up my alley.

Low Points:

I didn’t get enough sleep and I was kind of grumpy today. Not Ebenezer Scrooge grumpy but wish I could caress my soft blankets grumpy. Now isn’t that terrible? How can I talk about church in one paragraph then turn around and talk about how grumpy I was. I’ll tell you how, I am honest, with myself and with the world. Sure, I’ll snap out of it and before you know it I’ll be that same happy, jovial John that everybody knows and loves so shut it and relax. No wait, apologies, would you be so kind as to be patient with me while I modify my demeanor?

DAILY INSANITY:
5 Words – Cover me with your anointing.
Do I really need to explain this concept?

Question
Why does the anointing make the difference?

Simply, the annointing breaks the yoke.

I have the word annointed tattooed on my ribs because I've heard countless times on how God's anointing has made all the difference in my life. However, I chose to spell it with two n's because when God anoints you, we forfill a greater purpose beyond our human imagination and the will of God under ANY circumstances is non-negotiable.
