Discoveries:
Today I discovered that there are at least forty adjectives that describe my family. The entire world’s a stage and my family, the Williams family is filled with characters, directors, extras and cast members. We have heroes and villains, heroines and dastardly scoundrels but guess what? I wouldn’t trade them for anything! Imagine how bland life would be if every movie and TV show was drama and comedy free? In life we need the yin and the yang, the darkness and the light, the hot and the cold (obviously I’m hot,,,hahaha) in order to achieve balance. In the last fifty years the Williams Family has churned out professional athletes, published authors, skilled lyricist’s, civil servants, teachers, nurses, bankers, admins criminals, gangsters, plotters and students of life. I bet if you took a hard look at your family members, you’d see the same kaleidoscope and troupe that I see; only their last names will be different.
High Points:
Many of you know that each Saturday I host an internet talk radio show called Creative Soul. It is dedicated to featuring creativity in its purest form. Each week actors, artists, authors, musicians, dancers, photographers, professionals, athletes and business owners share their stories and creativity with the world. I have been broadcasting the show globally for more almost three years. Normally I interview a guest for an hour or have an aptly named “hot topic” show where we discuss racy issues but this week, in honor of the Madea’s Big Happy Family Craze (http://www.madeasbighappyfamilymovie.com/index.html ) I decided to have a radio show dedicated to my family. We laughed, talked and joked for almost an hour. I love my family. You should fall in love with them too, here is the link to the show so you can listen: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/creativesoul/2011/04/23/the-creative-soul-show
Themes for the Day
Where is my girl cousin at?
Let’s look at the family photo album
Big momma said we can’t go in the front room
My uncle threw a water balloon at me and now my eye hurts
I need a table for thirty, what is your family/group discount?
Low Points:
I didn’t make any time for me. How sad, I gave and gave and gave but forgot to carve out a few hours to do something that I enjoy. What a shame too because I like doing things, oodles of things. For instance: I love to read but I didn’t pick up a book. I enjoy playing basketball but didn’t pick up the rock to shoot. I love music but only listened to the songs I will be singing with the choir at Easter service. I love to sleep but failed to make time for a nap. The Dalai Lama once said “If you can cultivate wholesome mental states prior to sleep and allow them to continue right into sleep without getting distracted, then sleep itself becomes wholesome.” So, with that said, my thoughts are wholesome and I am dog tired. Per the quote my sleep should be sweet slumber.
DAILY INSANITY:
2 Words-HEARTY MEAL
Don’t you just love buffets? They are America’s answer to the recession. Where else, other than mama or Grandmama’s house and pay a small fee then stuff yourself like a Thanksgiving turkey? Nowhere! Not anywhere! My kids love buffets; Asian buffets to be more specific. They have fruit, ice cream and a whole host of other tasty treats to satisfy your sweet tooth. As icing on the cake, it’s only $4.95!!! Yessir!
