Discoveries:

Today I discovered that there are entirely too many fashion trends out now. We’ve got skinny jeans, 80’s shades, metallic sneakers, white watches and a whole host of other seemingly ridiculous wares that I no longer can identify with. Before I get on my high horse and complain about what they are wearing let me zoom back 15 years to when I too wore outlandish shit trying to stand out from the pack. My vices were oversized Girbaud jeans, bright colors and silk House Party shirts. I am certain my mother cringed at the sight of them just as I shake my head when I see a teenager who is 6” 2’ weighing 200lbs wearing a pastel pink members only leather jacket and a pair of skinny jeans. I guess what you wear makes a statement about who you are, I get that, truly I do. Just be careful about what statement you make. Now,,,,which box did I store my Damaged jeans and Cross Colour hoodies in?

High Points:

Today I found one of the most remarkable photos depicting a beautiful, dark-skinned, high-fashion model. I posted the photo on my Facebook page and saw comments pour in from other men and women who were in agreement. I went online and looked the model’s information up on the web and found her credentials. Low Points:

This is going to sound so petty but, why are the majority of video girls light-skinned or of tropical influence. No wonder chocolate girls sometimes hate their color. Not every woman has long wavy hair draped down their back, not every woman is the color of sweet crème. People of color have variety,just as thousands of  words appear the dictionary. There are plenty of beautiful women out there who have short natural hair, curvaceous bodies and dark skin. Rappers, Singers and Club heads, I double dare you to start using a few more pretty brown sistahs in your video. Watch your album sales go through the roof!
