Discoveries:
Today I discovered that Dallas thinks BIG. In fact, the city of Dallas thinks BIG enough to be able to handle the 2011 Superbowl. As I Dallas area resident I have caught the buzz and have been gripped by the football frenzy. Tonight I enjoyed an event called the NFL Experience.NFL Experience is the interactive component event surrounding Super Bowl XLV. As the NFL website articulates, the event is loaded with "displays, entertainment attractions, kids' football clinics, free autograph sessions and the largest football memorabilia show ever" I arrived a little after 6pm and stayed until they kicked me out. The event was a great warm up to a fun filled week of partying, socializing and sports. Check out the site for more info: http://www.nfl.com/superbowl/45/events/nfl-experience
High Points:
I was a well-oiled machine in the office today. Can you remember a day you had in your life where it seemed like everything you touched turned into gold? That's how I felt today. I met clients, collected payments, found new business, worked rooms and did lunch. I feel like I have been given a great opportunity to achieve status and amass wealth; not just money but wealth. The sky is my the limit. Have you looked outside lately, that's one big ass sky up there! I'm going after bigger fish, larger spends and better fits. I will keep you posted.
Low Points:
I miss Chicago. There, I said it. I miss all that it represents and although the weather has been averaging 65 degrees, the cost of living is much cheaper and there is not state tax I miss the vibrancy of the city. I miss the people and the neighborhoods that gave Chicago character. I miss the food: Giordano's, White Castle, Garrett's popcorn, Harold's Chicken, Uno's, Ming's, Leona's and a whole host of other restaurants. I miss the lakefront and the feeling you get cruising along Lake Shore Drive. I miss the windows and the possibility you are gifted with to have a one of a kind experience with a one-of-a-kind person. I am sure I will get over it. Or will I?
Daily Insanity:
Why is AT&T UVERSE not available in my area? I would gladly pay for it but they are not available in the suburb I live in. Bummer! I used to work for AT&T and I helped to launch the UVERSE product in the Dallas market so I know all of the specs and capabilities. A friend of a friend has it and it is too cool. All of the options and HD programming coupled with the blazing speed make it an easy choice for homeowners. Hell, even the look and feel of it begs for attention. I went online to the AT&T website and looked for updates about when they would offer it in the future but was couldn't find anything . Oh well, I guess I will stick with the cable company.

The power of the tongue enormous. Before you start thinking this is an excerpt from Mr. Marcus Guide to Sex; what I mean is people really, really sometimes take what I say or suggest too seriously. The Bears had made it to the Superbowl for the second time in 20 years and I made the suggestion to one of my in-laws who recently purchased a house that it would be a nice (IDEA) to throw a superbowl party. Sounds like a good idea huh? Wrong! I had only suggested it making small talk, I had no idea that she took me literally word for word. 3 weeks later (two hours before kickoff) my wife gets a call saying her aunt has made a spread that a true Texan could appreciate and when are we coming over. So at the last minute I ended up having to cancel my plans to attend the party, however I wasn't out the fire yet. When I got there, I found out also I was expected to bring most of the guests to eat all of this food that she had to have spent a grip on. Imagine calling everyone in your contacts practically seducing folk to come over to save my ass at the last minute. Did I mention that my aunt is a cop and could make Drew Peterson look like Minnie Mouse (lol if you took her there). In the end honestly, my fondest memory came from this superbowl eating ,drinking with my aunt (who is cool as fan) while cussing at the tv as Rex "muthaf$@#*&*"Grossman just gave the Superbowl away. The power of the tongue is ridiculous huh? I still pride myself on being an expert on the art of having a conversation, but the older I get I often realize how silence is really golden.
