Discoveries:
Today I discovered that getting back into the swing of any one thing can be difficult. In fact, it’s like pulling teeth. “Day 1” is easy but not day 100. I have been purposefully avoiding all digital mediums in an effort to cleanse my dependence on the social aspects of my life that are controlled by electronic mediums. In other words, I decided to go on a Facebook and Twitter diet. I lasted a full 2 weeks but gave in after I discovered I had no real use for my cell phone anymore,,,oh yeah, I could have used it for phone calls. The nervous jitters are gone, I no longer feel like you are a black dot on a white wall. That’s fit of rebellion is over now! I’m plugged up, fully linked in and back!
High Points:
I am proud of a few things that occurred while I was on my e-diet: I grew my nails and got a manicure, I made my first, second and third sale at my new job, I used botanicals and oils to clear up a skin problem caused by shaving, I saw Talib Kweli, Savion Glover, Ozomatli and Nicki Minaj perform live and I met and shook Al Sharpton’s hand. While those things are historic for their own reasons, I am most honored by my son’s gesture of his faith. He asked me if he could be baptized. Whoa! I was floored. As a man of faith, I was almost in tears when he asked me to help him perform the ceremony with the pastor. Love ya lil buddy.
Low Points:
It took me getting a case of heartburn for me to realize that I can’t eat the things I ate when I was 20. Who knew that massive amounts of pepperoni could sideline a 220lbs man? Damn, what else can’t I eat? Well, I went to my new food home (WHOLE FOODS) and found that you don’t have to sacrifice taste and flavor to eat healthy. Each week they offer a cooking class and they have digital help-me’s to assist you with recipes and understanding how each spice, ingredient, and item can be used in cooking. Aren’t you tired of drinking freeze pop juice? Switch to tea. Kudos to Whole Foods in The Villages at Fairview in Fairview, TX.
Question
