Discoveries:
I have been looking for another daytime gig for about 2 weeks now and it is becoming more apparent to me that a Sales Career has its ups and downs. The same traits that usually discourage people from seeking a sales role are the very attributes that motivate me to apply. I love to control my own paycheck and hate being placed into a category or box. I embrace high pressure situations because I am a confident man who can take calculated risks with, pretty much, no problem. However, it never ceases to amaze me how some companies will post gigs online and withhold important particulars like the fact that the job has a ridiculously high quota, that there are no reasonably affordable healthcare benefits plans available and that the job is a 100% commission-only pay structure. WTF!! You’re trying to rape or rob me.
High Points:
I did about 6 miles on the bike today. No, not some stationary programmable joint either. I 'm talking about on the good ole’ mountain bike. That 10-speed joint! I sweat like I was wrapped in foil but I felt great afterwards. I helped my son set up his own blog too. This way he can vent by doing something creative versus whining to his Grandma about how bad of a father I am. Oh poor thing; he lives in a 3200 sq foot house, has his own bedroom, TV, Bed and bathroom. He has 3 video game systems and goes to a great school with no murders, robberies or kidnappings. Poor thing. He is a good kid though, I read his first blog and it was homage to my strict parenting skills. Finally, I finished the paperwork for the BET Lens on Talent Film contest. I am a little worried about the submission’s quality but overall it’s a great story.
Low Points:
I fell asleep at 8:30pm yesterday and failed to keep the promise I made to myself to post a blog everyday. It’s cool though. There’s no sense in crying over spilled milk, simply lick it off the floor. I’m so nasty, but my female fans and followers can feel me on that one. I will do (2) posts today in lieu of. I also woke up again in the middle of the night to raid the fridge only this time I only had a handful of generic goldfish snacks and some leftover tea. See,,,I’m getting better.
Question
Why can’t people keep the promises they make to themselves?
