Discoveries:
This week I discovered that
the World Cup is more about passion than it is about soccer. Name another sport
where the game could end in a tie and every spectator still feels fulfilled? Americans
are spoiled, many would argue that athletes in our sport have lost their
passion. Greats like Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, Muhammad Ali and Babe Ruth
no longer exist. While watching the 2014 World Cup I saw fans and players
laughing, crying and displaying their emotions. One kid caught on camera
celebrated so hard that his video went viral! I don’t really follow soccer and
I don’t have a clue about which country will win the Cup but what I do know is
that I want to keep passion like that in my life.

High Points:
One of my good friends is
getting married! I am so happy for him. When you have a tough life it’s nice to
be rewarded with a companion who was made just for you. I have had the
privilege of meeting his bride to be and she is amazing. They attended a get
together I threw a last year and I had the chance to size her up. I didn’t go
into it looking for anything in particular, instead I just observed and waited
to see if any of the tell-tale signs would surfaced. None emerged, in fact
quite the opposite occurred. I actually saw glimpses of all the traits he did.
She was kind, polite, funny, smart and respectful. She did not take more than
she would give and in a very short amount of time she silently proved to me
that she was worthy of my friends hand in marriage. Well done man, well done!

I let the tattoo bug bite
me again. Three weeks ago I sat in a chair for three and a half hours and
enduring some of the most excruciating pain I’ve felt in a long time to get a
pretty cool wraparound half sleeve. I conceptualized the piece a few years ago.
The idea was to have all of my vices on one arm and on the other have all of
the virtuous things I’ve experienced in my life. Once the first arm was done
the tattoo looked so nice that I declared that this one was enough. Well, that
was how I felt before. Now I want the other arm done in the worst way. I have
selected some artwork that I found on the internet and I am getting mentally
prepared for more abuse. What’s my problem?
DAILY INSANITY:
One Word: CHILL
In life few words can sum up the intention of a well-deserved vacation. When you work hard you want to chill afterwards. Grant it we all chill differently. I chill by grabbing my favorite snacks, a good magazine, throwing on some tunes and surrounding myself with good people and tasty drinks. I live, laugh, learn and enjoy life in the moment. Other people like relaxing on the beach or having a five course meal at a fine restaurant. However you chill remember to do so, especially if you work hard.
