Livin’ like there’s no tomorrow..

Discoveries:

Today I discovered that I live like there is no tomorrow! This can be both a good and bad thing. In one hand I seize the moment and take advantage of my herebeing making the most of every single opportunity, chance, gift and situation. I am the type of man that accepts what he sees because its right in front of him. At the same time, this prevents me from being a visionary which I feel is also a valuable trait to have a man, a leader. I am an uber extrovert who loves the “right now” and the “at this instant”. Many tell me that I am exciting to be around and that I am the life of the party but what happens when the party is over? As I mature and embrace my purpose in life I will be mindful of living for today and for tomorrow as with leaving a legacy (important to me) one must consider the long term effects of every decision that they make because each choice, each interchange, like in the game of chess, can lead to another move or ultimately an alternate outcome for your life.

High Points:
I learned how to use my new phone, well sort of. Many of you know that I am desperately trying to embrace the advancements in technology and junction with the digital age. Today, it’s all about the touch screen. They are great because you can see multiple screens and options plus it’s kinda cool in a Minority Report kind of way but I declare the buttons are too small, at least for human hands. Until today, I thought that even E.T could send a text message faster I could. However, I found a voice recognition option that allows you to speak your text messages instead of having to type them. How cool is that? And the software is pretty accurate, except for a few expletives that I have been struggling to remove from my vocabulary its pretty spot on. I am going to have fun with that feature and it might just help convince me to keep my phone.

Don’t touch me, touch my phone
iPhone, EVO, Blackberry, HTC, Yadda yadda ya
Can you just show me how to do it instead of pulling out the manual?

Low Points:

I drank nearly a gallon of water last night! While H2O is one of the best fuels and sustainers for the body, it also sends you to the restroom. That was dumb. I woke up three or four times last night, literally. You should have seen me stumbling to the john trying not to step on hot wheels and video game controllers. Once or twice I even remember walking into a closet instead of into the bathroom. That could have been a disaster, at least for the floor and clothes hanging up. Mercifully
I did wake up though, what if I would have stayed in my bed and soaked my mattress like I used to do when I was 9, and 10 and ,,,well you get the point. No more late night thirst quenching!

DAILY INSANITY:
Three Words: No Home Training
Remember the precious few years of your youth from age three to six when your parents and the elders in the family taught you home training? Now, grant it Home Training was not a formal class nor did you receive a certificate or graduation honor for finishing the program but they took the time to equip you with those precious tools so you could approach life.  Why Home Training is so absent from today’s youth. Below is a brief list of things that home training could have prevented.
  • Two year old babies sitting on the porch at 11pm wearing nothing but a pamper
  • Inside couches being used as outdoor furniture outside on porches
  • Wearing neon colors, Velcro strap shoes and plastic sunglasses after the 1980’s
  • Talking throughout the entire movie like you are the only one in the theater
  • Feeding your baby candy for breakfast and no vegetables with their meals
  • Children talking when grown folks are talking
  • Feeding your kids cereal that’s just like candy because its sugar content is so high
  • Slap boxing in the street

Question
Which actions do you feel GOOD home training could prevent?

You are a fool John, but that home training did go a long way.

seeing 12-17 yrs olds out pass the street lights.

seeing anyone under 18 sitting around the house as if bedtime wasn't between 8:30 and 9pm

getting bad grades and think you going to sport a $200 cell phone in return.

why school is out at 2:30 and my kids friends are at my house at 2:45. Lack of CHOREs to be done.

Hearing a parent repeat themselves more than twice. (excuse me)
